Hocking Hills / The Wilds / Shawshank Trail - Summer Drive

IMPORTANT DATES:

June 9th is the last date for the Safari Tour tickets

June 15th is the last date to reserve your hotel rooms

We will start our journey on Friday, June 25th at 8:30 AM for breakfast at the IHOP located at 1240 S Dixie Hwy., Monroe. From there we will depart for a four day, three night summer drive to South-Central Ohio.  During the four days we will experience:

Friday:     Star-gazing at The John Glenn Astromomy Park (weather permitting, bring your telescope or binoculars).

Saturday: Drive the scenic roads around Hocking Hills, including the section where Car and Driver road tests their cars. Enjoy an open-air safari tour at The Wilds ($35 per person payable in advance and a $6 parking fee payable on the day of).

Sunday:  Tour The Ohio State Reformatory and its various movie sets ($35 per person).

Monday:  Lunch at Tony Packo’s, made famous on “MASH”. After lunch, drive   home independently.

Motel Reservations (please ASAP)

Please contact the Holiday Inn Express - Logan, 740-385-7700, before June 15th, and mention Jaguar Club to book your discounted room for $179.99, plus taxes, for Friday, June 25th. We have 7 king rooms and 3 double-queen roms, so the first to book gets their choice.

Please contact the Fairfield Inn & Suites - Cambridge, 740-435-8700, before June 15th, and mention Jaguar Club to book your discounted king room for $125, plus taxes, for Saturday, June 26th.

Please contact the La Quinta Inn & Suites - Mansfield, 419-774-0005, before June 15th, and mention Jaguar Club to book your discounted king room for $75, plus taxes, for Sunday, June 27h.

Planned Meals

We will generally plan on a substantial breakfast and a dinner daily. Currently these are:

Day 1: Breakfast at IHOP (Monroe) / dinner at The Olde Dutch Restaurant (Logan)

Day 2: Breadfast at the Holiday Inn Express (Logan) / dinner at Cracker Barrel (Cambridge)

Day 3: Breakfast at Mr. Lees Family Restaurant (Cambridge) / dinner at nearby restaurants (Mansfield)

Day 4: Lite Breakfast at the La Quinta Inn & Suites / lunch atTony Packo’s (Toledo)

Please be aware that with the current restrictions, most restaurants will not take reservations. And six people to a table seems to be the standard. So while we intend to use the restaurants above, last minute substitutions may be necessary.

Please RSVP by 6/09/2021 using the JAGM website event page. This is the last date that we can increase or decrease the 20 tickets we had to pre-purchase for the Safari. If you RSVP after the 9th, you may not be able to obtain a Safari ticket.

After you reserve on our website, specifying how many people in your group, you will receive an invoice for the number of tickets you specified for the Safari.
