The Salvation Army of St. Clair County, in partnership with Colonial Woods Missionary Church, invites the public to the 8th Annual Cars & Kettles event—a community-focused car show featuring classic, antique, exotic, and supercars -- to benefit local families in need.
This year’s event takes place on Saturday, July 25th, at Colonial Woods Missionary Church, located at 3240 Pine Grove Avenue, Port Huron, MI—just one mile from the end of I-94. Gates open for vehicle staging at 8:00 a.m., and spectators are welcome to attend free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Car owners and sponsors are encouraged to pre-register here. Registration is $25 per vehicle, and all proceeds go directly to support The Salvation Army’s programs in St. Clair County, including food assistance, housing support, and youth development initiatives.
Also JAGM members are asked to register here on our website, so that we can look for you at the event.
Traditionally, we stop for lunch after the car show at the River Crab Blue Water Inn located at 1337 River Road, St. Clair, MI.

Join us at the Baker's of Milford Sunday Car Show where we will park British Cars together on the paved area behind the restaurant. Look for the small white folding "A" signs reserving the parking spots.
Come and enjoy the music and other British and other classic cars enthusiasts that frequent their weekly Sunday car shows.
We pick one Sunday per month from May through September to congregate with the other British car enthusiasts in the area.
If you desire, food and drink are available in their restaurant.
Please Note: This event's date was changed from 8/01/26 to 8/08/26 to avoid the popular 10-day New Haven Coast Guard Festival, which makes travel and parking in New Haven much more difficult.
You won't want to miss this fun west-side of Michigan weekend. We will view a car collection and enjoy scenic drives. Please sign up now to reserve your spot.
Plan to arrive by noon. The address is 2660 28th St., SE, Grand Rapids. The name on the building is Schuler Books. Park on the east side of the building and enter near the building offset.
We will view the car collection and have a boxed lunch (cost of $20 per person).
At 1:30 PM we will depart the collection and drive through Heritage Hill neighborhood of 1800's and 1900's homes.
At 2:30 PM we will start our scenic drive to Grand Haven, MI and Lake Michigan beach, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
At 4:00 PM we will have some free time around the Grand Haven shops.
At 5:30 PM we will have dinner Noto's at the Bil-Mar, 1223 S Harbor Dr., Grand Haven (on the beach).
After dinner we will return to Grand Rapids and you can stay overnight at the Doubletree by Hilton, 4747 28th St., SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49512 (at the NW corner of Patterson St.)
If you stay in Grand Rapids Saturday night we can meet up at the hotel and visit the popular Meijer Garden, located at 1000 E Beltline Ave.NE, on Sunday morning. Meijer Garden currently has a Chihuly Blown Glass exhibit.

This membership meeting will take place at the Yono Auto Sales location in Farm ington, MI. We will have space on their lot to display our cars.

This trip was delayed while waiting for the New Gordie Howe Bridge to open. It is now scheduled to open on July 27, so we are off on the tour again.
We will meet at Sinbad’s parking lot at 9:00 AM (1000 St. Clair St., Detroit) on Saturday, August 15. The restaurant will not be open for business at that hour. We are just meeting up in their parking lot and confirming a continuous Lap of Lake St. Claire. If you need a bathroom break or basic breakfast, there is a McDonalds on Jefferson, not too far from Sinbad’s.
Please fill your car with gas before meeting at Sinbad’s. We will follow the Lake shore line as much as possible. The basic directions are to keep the water on your right.
There will probably be points of interest along the way where we may stop and investigate. There will be a lunch stop in Algonac prior to boarding the Walpole Ferry to cross the Detroit River to Canada. You must have your Enhanced ID or Passport to enter Canada and return to the US.
Some people may not care to drive from Sinbad’s to Algonac, depending on where you live.
When the Algonac luncheon stop has been determined, it will be published to all those who signed up on the website. You may just want to meet the group in Algonac.
Once we get into Ontario, the lakeshore roads are not in very good condition. We will probably leave the lake shore to use more improved roads and find better services, like an ice cream stop in Chatham. Hitting the road from Chatham we will continue our way to and through Windsor, the Gordie Howe Bridge and back to Sinbad’s for dinner.
The trip could be about 190 miles and take less than 5 hours if driven continuously.

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, drive to Dennis Wegarz's garage (see photos below), located at 7750 Willow Highway, Grand Ledge, MI. Plan to arrive about 10 AM.
After the garage tour, we will drive to The Nuthouse Sports Bar and Grill. located at 420 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing. We should arrive and park by 12:30 PM.
After lunch drive less than a mile to the RE Olds Transportation Museum, located at 245 Museum Drive, and take a docent led tour at 2:00 PM.
For those interested, The Lansing Lugnuts have a home game schedule at 7 PM. The stadium is located at 505 E Michigan Avenue, just 0.4 miles away.

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is the world's longest running motoring event, held on a course between London and Brighton, England. To qualify, participating cars must have been built before 1905. It is also the world's largest gathering of veteran cars. The first edition, "The Emancipation Run" in 1896, celebrated the recently passed Locomotives on Highways Act of 1896, which liberalised motor vehicle laws in the United Kingdom.
The run has taken place most years since its initial revival in 1927. It currently takes place on the first Sunday in November, starting at sunrise, about 7:00 AM, in Hyde Park, London, and mostly following the old A23 road to the finish at Brighton – a distance of 54 mi (87 km).
The event is organized on behalf of the Royal Automobile Club, who emphasise that the event is not a race – they do not even publish the order in which cars finish, and participants are not permitted to exceed an average speed of 20 mph (32 kph).
Our Homage run is from London (township, MI) to Brighton (MI), a slightly shorter distance (about 46 miles, depending on the final route) than the original. We will stop for lunch after the drive somewhere in the Brighton area.
