On Saturday, December 10th fifty members gathered from across the state, Indiana, and Ontario, for our annual Holiday Party. The Holiday Party this year was again held at the White Horse Inn in Metamora. The local weather there was mostly sunny and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, but we did hear some comments about snow being encountered during the morning journey.
In addition to the wonderful buffet lunch, two baskets were given away to the lucky ticket holders. We also held a 50/50 raffle, something that we had done in years past and decided to bring back for this year. The results of the raffle presented one lucky member with $105, with the club benefiting by $100. This income to the club reduced its contribution to the event to just over $300.
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation benefited through the direct contribution of $965, and enough new unwrapped toys to fill three large plastic bags used for transportation to the drop-off location. JAGM is a generous group with a history of donating.
We had a couple of new members join us at the Holiday Party, and it appeared that they were warmly welcomed. The room was full of engaging conversations and happy and friendly faces. It was a nice way to end 2022.
Together we will make 2023 even better.
