About the event
In the recent past, JAGM has driven to and toured the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso and the Durant Union Station, in Durant. They were both popular venues and make for enjoyable events. Please join JAGMas we continue our interest in railroads in Michigan with a one-day backroads drive to Grass Lake.
Imagine the time before paved streets, cars, and buses. Village streets bustling with activity and people in the early 1900s of Grass Lake. The electric Interurban railway system is the primary mode of public transportation. More than six railways intersected Jackson County and delivered visitors to and from Ann Arbor, Jackson, Battle Creek, and Lansing.
Now, get ready to see what that time was like at the Lost Railway Museum.

9:30 AM Meet at McDonald's (9 Mile and US-23) on Saturday, July 22, 2023
9: 45 AM Drive 35 miles (50 minutes) of back roads to the museum
10:45 AM Take a docent-led tour of the museum
12:00 PM Depart the museum for lunch
12;15 PM Lunch at the Clear Lake Grill
1:45 PM Depart the restaurant using backroads back to our start
2:45 PM Depart for home
